Resuscitation Academy Foundation Director of Education
The Education Director will play a pivotal role in guiding and supporting the Resuscitation Academy’s initiatives. As a key member of our team, the Education Director will provide expert knowledge of EMS Operations and a solid foundation of Communications Center Operations. This role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to design, implement, and assess educational initiatives that align with the organization's mission and goals.
Position Type: Consultant (8 hours/week average - requires some flexibility)
Expected Rate of Compensation: $41,600
Number of Hours of Consultation (Basis for fee): 416 / $100 per hour

Medical Expertise
Provide translation of resuscitation science guidelines, research, and trends for non-physicians under the direction of the Medical Director.
Provide consultation and mentoring on programmatic quality improvement and training for EMS and 911 Center medical directors.
Collaboration and Networking
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with healthcare professionals, research institutions, and other relevant stakeholders.
Represent the organization at conferences, meetings, and events to enhance its visibility in the resuscitation community.
Cultivate additional resuscitation champions within the Lighthouse community.
Travel to lighthouse events, provide feedback and conduct QI efforts to ensure alignment with the Seattle RA.
Motivate and support stakeholders in resuscitation quality improvement.
Educational Program Development and Evaluation
Collaborate with internal teams to identify educational needs.
Design, develop, and implement educational programs, workshops, and training sessions, including efforts to improve survival in underserved areas.
Implement assessment strategies to measure the effectiveness of educational programs.
Analyze feedback and evaluation data to continuously improve and refine educational offerings.
Curriculum Design
Develop and review educational curricula, ensuring alignment with RAF standards and adult-learning best practices.
Incorporate innovative and interactive teaching methodologies to enhance the learning experience.
Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure the accuracy and relevance of educational content.
Advisory Board
Participate as an active member of the RAF Advisory board, engaging in organizational strategic planning, governance, networking, and advocacy.

EMS leadership experience
Strong understanding of both EMS and the Comms Center
Understanding of adult learning styles and best practices
Strong understanding of prehospital cardiac arrest and related program implementation factors
Strong understanding of disparities in survival
Ability to interpret scientific research articles and translate them into real-life protocol best practices and learnings
Ability to be a self-starter and work independently; be action-oriented
Strong project management and organizational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Ability to travel - domestic and international as needed

Resuscitation Academy Foundation Medical Director
The Medical Director will play a pivotal role in guiding and supporting the Resuscitation Academy’s initiatives. As a key member of our team, the Medical Director will provide expert medical advice, contribute to strategic planning, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of our programs.

Number of hours of Consultation (Basis for fee): 416 hours / $250 per hour

Medical Expertise
Possess high research literacy and provide scientific consultation on current resuscitation science guidelines, research, trends, and developments.
Provide expert medical advice to inform decision-making processes within the organization.
Consult on the creation and delivery of content for educational courses, lectures, and webinars.
Provide consultation for EMS and 911 Center medical directors.
Answer questions about resuscitation science and best practices from EMS partners and RA alumni.
Strategic Planning
Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and refine strategic initiatives related to RAF’s mission impact.
Contribute to the development of long-term organizational goals and objectives.
Program Development and Evaluation
Assist in the design and implementation of RAF programs, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Assist in the evaluation of the effectiveness of existing programs and recommend enhancements based on evidence and best practices.
Develop a publication/program strategy for RAF, with a focus on underserved populations and strategies to overcome disparities and gaps in equity for OHCA care.
Collaboration and Networking
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with healthcare professionals, research institutions, and other relevant stakeholders.
Represent the organization at domestic and international conferences, meetings, and events to enhance its visibility in the resuscitation community.
Cultivate additional physician champions within the Lighthouse community.
Educational Initiatives
Contribute to the development of RAF educational materials for professionals, community members, and other stakeholders.
Participate in training sessions and workshops to disseminate resuscitation-related knowledge.
Motivate and support stakeholders in resuscitation quality improvement.
Board Participation
Participate as an active member of the RAF Advisory board, engaging in organizational strategic planning, governance, networking, and advocacy.
Participate as an active member of the Global Resuscitation Alliance Executive Board.

Medical Doctor (MD or DO) with specialty in EMS Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Cardiology, Family Medicine, Anesthesia, or Internal Medicine with years of experience in clinical practice or academic research
Experience as EMS and/or emergency communications center Medical Director
Strong understanding of prehospital cardiac arrest and related program implementation factors
Strong understanding of disparities in survival
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
