The Florida Resuscitation Academy is honored to be included as a Lighthouse Community. Davie Fire Rescue and Brevard County Fire Rescue implemented the system improvements from the 10-steps and witnessed our ROSC and survival rates dramatically increase. Davie Fire Rescue’s five-year neuro-intact survival rate for witnessed, shockable cardiac arrest is now 53%. Brevard County is in its second year of implementation and has increased from 16% to 31%. The leadership team is incredibly proud of our firefighters and paramedics for making the culture changes needed to adopt several changes to cardiac arrest management. The measure and improve mantra will always be used to improve the service to our communities. The leadership team looks forward to hosting more training events across the state, thanks to the Florida Department of Health’s partnership. Hearing stories of more survivors from the attendees inspires all of the Florida Resuscitation Academy faculty. We are incredibly thankful for the Resuscitation Academy’s support that has led to many survivors throughout Florida being given the chance to “see another sunrise.”
